For sixty years, Fort Verde Days has served as the community’s annual homecoming while also celebrating the military post around which the town of Camp Verde grew.
A carnival, parade and a host of events at Fort Verde State Historic Park highlight the three-day event.
Our Board of Directors is working hard to plan a great festival for this 60th year. Our wish list is long and we hope to be able to do it all but it takes a lot of planning, a lot of volunteer work and a lot of leg work. Below are details about the events.
The Artisan Gallery: admire and buy artworks from various artists on Sunday of Fort Verde Days.
Orienteering: learn how to navigate in the world from our skilled Boy Scouts.
GEO – Caching: learn the modern way of orienteering.
Indy Car Simulator: feel the thrill of driving an Indy car in an Indy car simulator.
Sock Hop Dance: enjoy the music and dance of the 50’s on Friday night a.
Scarecrows Around Town: join the finalists of the Scarecrow Contest and vote for your favorite.
The Colonel’s Daughter presentation (Saturday at noon): watch the presentation of female contestants in the Colonel’s Daughter competition – the most competitive event in Fort Verde Days. The winner is judged based on her ability to ride a horse, speak to an audience and dress to the period.
Carnival and Parade: purchase Sunday-only carnival tickets for $20.00 each.
Cornhole games (Friday night and Saturday night): participate in a fun horseshoes-like game
