For sixty years, Fort Verde Days has served as the community’s annual homecoming while also celebrating the military post around which the town of Camp Verde grew.
A carnival, parade and a host of events at Fort Verde State Historic Park highlight the three-day event.
Our Board of Directors is working hard to plan a great festival for this 60th year. Our wish list is long and we hope to be able to do it all but it takes a lot of planning, a lot of volunteer work and a lot of leg work. Below are details about the events:
Camp Verde High School Art Show: admire the work of our talented art students. The CVHS Art show will be open on Friday from 4 PM – 8 PM, Saturday from 11 AM – 6 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM – 2 PM.
Orienteering: learn how to navigate in the world from our skilled Boy Scouts.
Scarecrows Around Town: Look for our Scarecrows popping up around town from September through Fort Verde Days.
The Colonel’s Daughter presentation (Saturday at 1:30PM): watch the presentation of female contestants in the Colonel’s Daughter competition – the most competitive event in Fort Verde Days. The winner is judged based on her ability to ride a horse, speak to an audience and dress to the period.
Carnival and Parade: Tickets: Presale: $18 at Bashas and Camp Verde Feed. $18.50 online. At Gate: $25. Sunday-only carnival tickets for $20.00 each.
Carnival tickets can be purchased online for $18.50. Your tickets will be at the Camp Verde Business Alliance Booth, just south of the Bud Truck as you come into the big gate. Also tickets will be on sale beginning September 25th, at Camp Verde Feed Store, south of the field, at 584 S Main Street. They will also be available at Bashas’ Grocery Store, 650 Finnie Flat Road. These tickets will be sold in the store until 4pm on Friday October 13th or when we run out of tickets, whichever comes first. We will also sell Carnival Tickets on Sunday for only $20. That will be at the ticket booth inside the Carnival.
