Cornfest

T. B. Thorson, a local retired photojournalist & Media Producer was kind enough to take and share over a hundred photos of Cornfest 2014 with us.  Here are just a few.  Enjoy!

The CAMP VERDE CORNFEST will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 17th and 18th, 2015.

The Verde Valley of central Arizona has the best sweet corn you have ever tasted! The Camp Verde Cornfest started in 1991  as a way to not only feature our wonderful corn, but to have fun with our friends and neighbors at the height of the corn season and the summer.

We always begin on Friday at 3pm with activities for all ages, music, vendors and, of course, hot, roasted, buttered sweet corn. We will also sell uncooked corn by the dozen.

Saturday is a full day with more delicious corn and even more to do.

BIRDING EXCURSIONS – There is always plenty of wildlife to see along the river trails – – -

Free Cornfest birding excursions to be held on Saturday, July 19th.  We will see and hear plenty of birds and also learn much about the natural history of the Verde River, one of the premier birding venues in the southwest!  The excursions will depart from Rezzonico Family Park at both 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and will last approximately 90 minutes. Rezzonico Family Park is located in the Town of Camp Verde at the southwest corner of Montezuma Castle Highway and the Verde River at Black Bridge. It is 2.85 miles from I-17 on Montezuma Castle Highway toward Camp Verde, and .55 miles on Montezuma Castle Highway from Main Street in Camp Verde.  If you have binoculars, please bring them.  Drinking water and walking or hiking shoes are also recommended.   Pre-registration is required. Please e-mail whiskycobra1@gmail.com or call 480-242-1996 to register or to request more information regarding these trips.
